The Power of Thought
The power of thought, as Emerson says, is a spiritual power. It is the greatest power that man has at his disposal.
The world today is in its present state simply as a result of mankind’s collective thinking; each nation is in its present state of either peace and prosperity, or poverty, murder and anarchy, simply as a result of its thinking as a nation; and each individual is what he is, and his life is what it is, and his circumstances are what they are, simply as results of his thoughts.
Henry Thomas Hamblin was born at Walworth, London in 1873. He was from a poor family but very determined and able to rise from his predicament. It was said that all through his life he had visions of a divine presence. He later described this presence as heavenly bliss where all anxiety and earthly worries were suddenly absent, only remaining with indescribable feeling of love.
After the sudden and unexplained loss of his 10-year old son, Hamblin realized that his life was wasting away and he must fulfill what he was meant to do, a service and charitable work for the benefit of humanity.
